The Győr-Moson-Sopron county prosecutor’s office is charging a 30-year-old man with manslaughter and endangering a minor.

The perpetrator used to be in live together with the victim, but their relationship deteriorated and last February the woman moved with their 10-month-old son to the village of Kajárpéc. The man continued to visit them regularly.

On one such occasion the man got into a conflict with the 27-year old woman in the kitchen, the reason was jealousy. He hit the woman three times with his fist, which made her fall on the ground. She stood up and ran into the room where their child was. Here the man started strangling her on the sofa with both hands, then stabbed her nine times in the face and neck. The victim fell on the ground, bleeding heavily. The man left her there and went to the child, who was crying desperately. The father tried to calm him down, picked him up and put him on the blood-covered mother, then left. The severely injured woman died within minutes. Her body and the crying, blood-stained baby lying on her were found the next morning.

The perpetrator is under arrest, the maximum penalty he can get is 20 years in prison.
